Meeting of the Minds – Dementia Conference

Last year Joyful, Inc. offered a sneak preview of the Lifestyle Ledger at “The Meeting of the Minds” dementia conference sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter. Little did we know we would be in a sea of green surrounded by want-to-be leprechauns as we enjoyed the St. Patrick’s Day event in St. Paul where temperatures surprisingly hit around eighty. This year we exhibited again at the event. We were without the warm temperatures and leprechauns; however, we experienced the novelty of seeing a real brain, contrasting a normal brain and one with Alzheimer’s.

I have attended this annual conference numerous times, but previously as an assisted living director. This is a great one-day event where caregivers, both family and professionals, meet to hear and learn more about the insidious disease of Alzheimer’s along with sharing their experiences. The conference begins with a welcome and addresses by keynote speakers followed by numerous breakout sessions that caregivers can choose to attend. The conference provides a great variety of exhibitors too.

The Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter provides a wonderful resource for families and professional providers. I have found their services of high value and encourage caregivers to contact them with any dementia concerns. If you are in another state I recommend checking out your local Alzheimer’s Association chapter.

If attending next year’s “Meeting of the Minds”, make sure you check out the exhibitors, especially Joyful, Inc. and the Lifestyle Ledger.

My thanks to your organization and staff for all they do in the business of caring.

Be Joyful,

Joy
